Building A Business Out of A Hobby with Miracle Method
How a McAllen, Texas Local is Expanding a Thriving Business to Serve South Texas.

For the past ten years, Spencer and Patricia Hansen spent their careers in education, working with a school in Reynosa, Mexico near their home in McAllen, Texas.

“While we were working at the school, we helped construct seven new buildings for the campus,” said Hansen. “Our main focus was on the contracting work and we really enjoyed that aspect.”

Through their experience with the school, the couple looked for opportunities to pursue their passion for home repair.

Spencer learned about Miracle Method as he was researching small business ownership opportunities and thought Miracle Method provided a great balance of personal passion with a proven business model for his next career move.

“When we came across Miracle Method, we were fascinated by the beautiful transformations done in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional replacement,” said Hansen. “We discovered there was nothing similar in McAllen and decided it would be a great idea to open a franchise.”

Miracle Method is the largest bath and kitchen refinishing company in the U.S. supported by more than 140 franchises. It was recently ranked in the Top 20 of Qualified Remodeler's Top 500, and specializes in repairing and restoring all types of tubs, ceramic tile and countertops, helping homeowners save thousands of dollars in replacement costs.

The couple’s interest in the concept was met with excitement from the Miracle Method corporate team as the brand has been building its presence successfully in Houston, Dallas and markets throughout South Texas. The state provides huge opportunity for the refinishing business as more large corporations such as FedEx, Toyota and State Farm are moving their headquarters to the area.

“We find our franchisees do very well in locations with robust real estate markets where services for remodeling homes is in high demand,” mentioned Gwyn O'Kane, VP of Franchise Development for Miracle Method. “Whether a homeowner or real estate investor is looking to improve the appearance and value of bathrooms and kitchens, Miracle Method’s beautiful transformations make sense.”

Hansen echoed the corporate team’s insight about growth potential in the McAllen market.

“Miracle Method offers a quick and cost-effective solution for people looking to update up their homes,” said Hansen.

The Hansen’s look forward to building Miracle Method’s presence in McAllen and the Valley area.

“I’ve always had a hard time finding a career that suits my home improvement hobby,” said Hansen. “I’m thankful to have found Miracle Method and can’t wait to create this local business doing something I love.”
